Training

Tubbs studies improv from a myriad of wonderful instructors at NYC's famed The People's Improv Theatre (The PIT). He received his MFA in Acting from The University of Texas at Austin and his BFA in Acting from Wright State University in Dayton, OH. 

Recent Acting Work

Tubbs was in the Bay Area Premiere of Elizabeth Irwin's play, My Mañana Comes at the Marin Theatre Company.

Recent Directing Work

Tubbs was the 2015-16 Directing Fellow for the Asolo Repertory Theatre in Sarasota, FL. 

First Moment Performing For An Audience

Tubbs made his stage debut at 6 years old in his summer camp's production of "Going Buggy" playing a cool judge with a lot of style. "I only had one line and still remember it clearly, 'Bugs in my courtroom this cannot be this is a catastrophe.' When I think of this line and this moment it reminds me how long I've loved performing and why I do it."

DIRECTORFEST 2016: THE 33RD ANNUAL DIRECTORS FESTIVAL

DirectorFest 2016: The 33rd Annual Directors Festival offers an exciting glimpse into the future of American theater by presenting one-act productions staged by four of the nation's most promising young directors. This year, directors Candis Jones, James Dean Palmer, Jesca Prudencio and Shaun Patrick Tubbs join the ranks of the illustrious alumni of The Drama League Directors Project, including Tony Award winners Diane Paulus, Pam MacKinnon, John Rando, Mark Brokaw and Michael Mayer. 

All four short plays are presented at each DirectorFest performance.
